Japonica in Redondo Beach

Great little spot! Rolls were fresh and they have a good beer line up. Definitely recommend for happy hour and great atmosphere for a date night.

We came to this restaurant for a meeting. This place was recommended to us by a friend. Well, we were not disappointed. The staff members were extremely nice and we had an excellent feeling. The food was just great. We enjoyed every moment and we shall absolutely come back again. Recommended.

A stylish looking interior and a progressive Japanese izakaya menu is the draw here. The sushi rolls were quite good. Try a sampling of the rolls plus the fried goods and some sake or Japanese draft beer. Service is quite good and sometimes owner will recommend what's good. Parking in the back but be careful when you enter from PCH if your car is a sedan or sports car as you will scrape the bottom of your vehicle.

Everything we had was just great. In this "new world", the staff was very friendly. They check your temperature and spray you with hand sanitizer before going in. Food is delicious... Recommend the Brussel sprouts!

DELICIOUS! Friendly staff, great food. We felt very comfortable eating here, even with a pandemic going on. They only had their patio open and the tables were spaced out adequately.

Even through this COVID-19, thos place does not dissapoint. Service was still great, friendly, attentive. I have always asked if sushi ever was made without rice and many places have been to said no, but this place had a plate called Final Fantasia (I believe, I'm forgetting lol) and it was superb. Great place, cant wait to visit inside when we are off grounding

Outstanding service. They had forgotten about our drinks, not only they apologized and explained the reason of why, also on the house for a drink plus an appetizer. So rare these days for this humbleness and real care for the success of their business. Will go back many many times in the future. And did I mention about the exceptional sushi... Yummmmm

All the food is good here, but what really shine are the rice-less rolls, which allow you to taste the full magnitude of the fish, the herbs, and the sauce. Eat them with a small bit of the special, smokey soy sauce for true umami.

We went there this afternoon and had a nice sidewalk early dinner. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The food was good, but we were expecting more based on the ratings and the price. I wasn't blown away by anything. That said, we enjoyed the Salmon skin salad, brussel sprouts and the chicken gyoza appetizers. We had three rolls. They were good and had a beautiful presentation, but I wasn't amazed. They were just good. I think I was looking for something more special based on earlier reviews.

I like this place. I stop by eating ramen at this place. I ate curry tsuke men. Taste was very good. Neighbor of ramen liver must try this place!

For an out of the box sushi experience, go here!! What I loved the most about this place is that they have a diverse staff ❣ I was so pleased to see this. They had a lot of spruced up sushi as well as some standard sashimi for authentic sushi lovers! I will say they are a bit pricier than other sushi bars but considering the area and the unique menu options, it's fair. Their brussel sprouts were soooo delish! Plus we had a roll that had a garlic butter sauce that I loved!!
